We have all heard horror stories: A couple spends years acquiring land, livestock, materials in building a ranch only for it to be destroyed in a squabble over the estate. Or there’s a divorce and remarriage and nothing is written down about who the farm belongs to. You can prevent this, and make sure that family members are speaking to each other after you are gone. Make sure your life’s work will remain.
The Oregon Agricultural Trust (OAT) is offering free workshops on farm and ranch succession planning. The first one will be held at the Harney County Courthouse on Monday, July 18th from 12:30 to 4 pm, but there will be other workshops (see below) if you miss it.
